In the
worlds of corporate industrials and commercials, including
new media, the new "triple threat" is a performer who
can smoothly read a teleprompter, deliver a killer audition
on ear prompter, and can walk onto a green screen set
with professionalism and confidence. Producers often look
for (and re-hire) performers who are equipped with these
increasingly essential skills.
|
|
This course
is designed as an introduction to teleprompter, ear prompter
and green screen for performers seeking to acquire these
skills to increase their employability in the commercial
and corporate industrial markets.

Practice
is critical to mastering prompter and green screen performance.
This course combines weekly in-class presentations and
at-home exercises designed to get students quickly on
their way to effective delivery of material for audition
and performance situations. In a fun and supportive atmosphere,
students learn necessary preparation and script analysis
techniques, how to approach prompter work, and progress
through a variety of real-world scripts over the six-week
course. Students should be prepared to handle business
vocabulary, including pharmaceutical and financial terms.
Working
with straight and character scripts, live and video
performance styles, and studio and location shoots,
students will receive a DVD of their work each week
to take home and study. The final session will simulate
a casting session or studio shoot, and will feature
a special industry guest. Bring your picture and resume!

Important note: Each student must bring his/her own portable
voice recorder and earpiece (wired or wireless) prior to the
first class. |
