Q. So how does this Online Live Learning Thing Work?

A. It's very simple: If you can't physically be in our classes, our cameras can be there for you! In our classes, along with our students, we have video cameras where you would be sitting if YOU were actually in class and at other places in the classroom. We then send the picture out to you live via streaming video, much like a live television show, to your computer.

Q. Do I get the full benefit of the class at home as if I were physically in the class?

A. Almost! Our classes are interactive; our Instructors will give you substantial feedback and personal guidance. And when appropriate, you will also be given homework assignments designed specifically for our online students. Plus, you get the benefit of taking our classes in the comfort of your living room and eating popcorn at the same time!

Q. If I take an online class in New York City, can I apply what I learn to where I live?

A. Most times you can! Almost every course we teach can be applied to you getting work at the local level. It’s a perfect combination: you get the best big city training with the heavy hitters and then you will be shown how to apply it right in your own area. Q. How is the technical quality of the live streaming video?

A. We use state-of-the-art equipment to give you the best possible picture and sound that is available. Remember, we don’t see you sitting there in your jammies, either!

Q. What happens if I miss a class?

A. Part of the excitement of the classes here are that they are sent out LIVE from New York and your password is time sensitive to the length of the program, so we encourage you to make as many classes as possible.

Q. What happens when a course is over?

A. We don’t love you and leave you. We encourage you to stay in touch with us. We have always taken an extended family approach with our students and that certainly goes to those we’ve met online as well.

Q. Is it safe for me to submit my credit card information over the internet when I register for online classes?

A. Absolutely. We use cutting-edge encryption software to make sure no one can see your credit card information besides us.

Q. What kind of requirements do I need for my computer?

A. Minimum system requirements:

• Pentium-class or better PC
• Windows 95, 98, or NT
• 16MB of RAM for Windows 95/98, 24MB RAM for NT
• 220MB Hard Disk Space to view or save
• 56K modem or better
• Netscape Navigator 4.0 or higher; Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher
• OR equivalent Macintosh specifications
• Quicktime 4.1 or higher

Q. Help! I forgot what my log-on name is!

A. No problem. Your log-on name is simply your full email address. Your password will be sent to you several days before classes start.

Signing up for a course is really simple!

1. First, go through the course offerings and find the course or courses that interest you. Be sure to read the “Online” section. This will tell you about the interactive parts of each class: how to submit questions and get back answers, scheduled Chat Room times with your Instructor, homework assignments and what materials you will be receiving from us. 2. Check out the times the courses are offered on the Schedule Page. These courses are offered LIVE, so make sure you can be with us at those times. All times are Eastern standard time.
3. You can sign up for classes on the registration page, via email, or by telepohone. It’s that simple! You will be given a unique password that will be valid for the specific time and length of each class.
4. That’s it! Just circle the date and time on your calendar, fire up your computer 15 minutes before class begins and you’re all set. (And just in case, we’ll send you a courtesy email a couple days before to remind you, too!) Jammies optional.

For those of you studying online, please note the following:

1. ASK QUESTIONS! While class is in session, you are invited to email in questions. This interactivity will go a long way toward maximizing what you get out of the course. Email to: online@scottpowers.com . Please be specific with your questions. The instructor will read several during class; others will be answered live online by our Consultants as quickly as time allows. You may also email during the week. These will be replied to as soon as possible. When doing so, please refer to the class you are taking.
2. CHAT ROOM. Each instructor will be hosting a Chat Room for our participating students. You are invited to participate! This will be an excellent time to have a personal disscusion with your Instructor and fellow students, and is a lot of fun. Please check individual instructors pages for the date and time of their Chat Room.
3. HANDOUTS. During the course of your program, we will email you handouts to the address you provided us when you registered. These are designed to maximize your participation n the course.
4. HOMEWORK. Homework assignments will be handed out during the course. As in any class, they will be expected to be completed before the next class.
